Art as therapy. Therapy and art.
Steph Guillén is a multidisciplinary artist and art therapist whose work explores the interconnectedness of nature, the cosmos, ancestral memory, and the human capacity for healing. Drawing from a wide range of media—including textiles, ceramics, painting, assemblage, and mixed-media sculpture—Guillén creates tactile and symbolic artworks that give form to the unseen: spiritual presence, emotional transformation, and the stories that live within the body.
As an ATR-P art therapist and certified grief counselor, Guillén’s clinical practice informs her visual work, amplifying themes of resilience, remembrance, and the rituals we create to navigate loss. Her creative process honors both the personal and the universal—inviting viewers into a space where art becomes a bridge between inner and outer worlds.
Guillén is currently advancing her training as she pursues counseling licensure and prepares to begin a PhD program in Fall 2026, with a focus on the intersectionality of art and spirituality through a phenomenological lens. Rooted in both scholarship and soul-work, her art is a testament to the power of making as a way of knowing, healing, and remembering.
